Our Youth Group (3 groups
covering grades 4-12) is open to girls and boys of all denominations
as well as those who do not have a church home.
As indicated in our
mission statement, one of the things we focus on is values and
character development. An example of an activity that we use to
embrace a sharing and caring attitude is community service work. We
serve at homeless shelters, senior and physically challenged
facilities, soup kitchens, municipal facilities, and special
community services. Successful completion of community service work
is our only requirement for active membership.
Complimenting the
community service activities, are the social events where group and
individual social skills are developed. Some examples of these
activities are skiing trips, ice skating, local camping and large
group campouts, trips to NYC, Broadway shows, lock-ins (over night
sleepovers), amusement parks, regular meetings, recreation
activities like “Fun Station”, parties, etc.
Our staff consists of
volunteers and we believe in and encourage parental involvement.
There are no dues or membership fees. We rely on a free will
offering at meetings and fundraising activities to supplement our
operating budget. Our program year runs from September through
June. A copy of our most recent schedule is available upon request.
